Besides helping to conserve more land, membership benefits include our member emails and invitations to special member-only events, and 2024 members can subscribe to estuary magazine at a discount. Members will receive the discount code in their acknowledgment letters.

Corporate Matching Gift Programs:
Please check with your human resources department or employee engagement portal to see if your employer offers a matching gift program. Many in Connecticut do but each one may differ in their requirements. Such programs may double your donations to EHLT.

Planned Giving:
With the guidance of an estate-planning attorney familiar with local estate laws you can:

Bequeath or donate assets to charities or causes.

Donate or bequeath all or a portion of your land or assets.

Establish a contingent bequest in case you outlive other heirs or a portion of the remainder of your estate after providing for family and friends.

The Anita Ballek/East Haddam Land Trust Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded annually to one graduating senior from Nathan Hale-Ray High School who has demonstrated civic-mindedness and submits an essay on why he or she intends to pursue environmental studies. The Stewardship Fund
This covers costs related to blazing and maintaining trails, preserve boundary maintenance, building footbridges over stream crossings, creating preserve parking areas, removing diseased and fallen trees, signage, invasive plant removal and control, and other work necessary for managing our preserves.
The Land Acquisition Fund
This fund is specifically for EHLT land purchases and conservation easements, to support Town of East Haddam Open Space purchases and, occasionally, support the purchase of other key parcels that preserve portions of the Connecticut River Valley.
The Calendar Fund
This fund offsets the production costs of the East Haddam Land Trust Photo Calendar, mailed to members and distributed locally, free of charge.

The General Fund
This fund is managed by EHLT's Board of Directors to meet current needs.
